Ideas for fundraising

We would like to thank you for choosing to fundraise for the islastones foundation.

There are so many things that you can choose to do to help raise funds so whether you are planning something alone or in a team, group, or as part of a bigger event here are some ideas that may help you decide what you would like to do:

  • Raffles
  • Tombolas –  you could have a teddy tombola, or a bottle tombola, book tombola, mixed prizes Everyone loves a tombola!
  • Making and baking: Cake sales and tea parties; can you make anything that you could sell?
  • Quiz nights (or afternoons – how about an afternoon tea and quiz event)
  • Bingo events – Everyone loves a bit of bingo too!
  • Online auctions – search your house and sell sell sell donate all or a percentage to islastones
  • Car boot sales
  • Car washing
  • Sporty sponsors- sponsored run, skip, hop, wheel, walks, skydives, swim, scoot, whatever floats your boat- challenge yourselves and make yourself feel proud.
  • Zumbathon, danceathon, sponsored silence
  • Show us your talents – put on a show and sell tickets; singing contests, karaoke, discos dancing
  • School or workplace perhaps have a ‘wear a hat day’, ‘non-uniform day’ ‘ face painting day’ and everyone pays a pound
  • Go Grey in May
  • Go Gold in September

To help you with your planning here are some Top Tips

  • Choose an event
  • Set a date
  • Print of some posters, invite people and tell everyone all about it
  • Keep it simple and don’t worry
  • You can set up your event on our JustGiving page or send the money you raise via our PayPal or bank account
  • Let us know how you get on. We would really love to hear your stories and share them on our Facebook Page.
  • Most importantly – Have FUN!
